A Strange Piece of Beautiful Evidence
The film seeks to uncover hidden stories of collective memory, re-visiting past events by the means of archival footage and forensic imagery. A Strange Piece of Beautiful Evidence draws unexpected connections among media-constructed trauma, bioluminescence and the Oslo 80’s art scene.

Oscar Qvale (b. 1985) lives and works in Oslo. He earned his BFA degree from the Bergen National Academy of the Arts and Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig (HGB), specializing in photography. In 2012 he received his masters degree from the Oslo Academy of Fine Art. Screenings include several norwegian art-institutions as well as Rencontres Internationales Paris. His video-installations has most recently been shown at Kunstnernes Hus and Galleri Melk.
